Ideal Standard ramps up its green product line

Ideal Standard, a leading provider of innovative and design-driven bathroom solutions, today pledged to add 100 more products to the Bathroom Manufacturers Association's (BMA) water efficient labelling scheme by this time next year.
Ideal Standard renewed its commitment to water savings on the first day of this year's Ecobuild conference, the world's biggest event dedicated to sustainable design, construction and the built environment.

Ideal Standard and Armitage Shanks will be showcasing 26 different water saving products on their stand at Ecobuild, including products from the Concept, Synergy, Melange and Contour range, as well as the Leadenhall basin range, designed by Rogers Stirk & Partners. Ideal Standard manufactures more green, water efficient products than any other manufacturer in the UK, with a total of 204 currently registered on the BMA's labelling scheme.

"There is a lot of wasted water in the bathroom and we're doing our bit to change that. In the UK, we estimate there are still around 11 million WCs that flush on more than six litres of water - some use as much as 11 litres. That needs to change. We're taking the action by manufacturing more products than anyone else in the market that are designed to save water. Our new toilets can now flush with as little as 4 litres for a long flush or 2.6 litres for a short one", said Tony Rheinberg, Marketing Manager at Ideal Standard.

Ideal Standard and the Bathroom Manufacturers Association have been working closely with the Government and the bathroom industry to encourage the widespread adoption of the labelling scheme.
Yvonne Orgill, chief executive of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association, commended Ideal Standard's pledge to add 100 more products to the scheme in the next year, "It's great to see that Ideal Standard is committed to providing water saving products across its ranges and we urge other manufacturers to follow suit. We have created a scheme which will help customers to make informed choices when purchasing water using products and we really want to see bathroom manufacturers using it".
