10-Nov-2008

Bathrooms have a tendency to be a bit on the boring side. Bath, shower, toilet, sink – and that's your lot. Well, not any more. Gadget designers have been having fun creating some amazing high-tech concepts for bathrooms, from huge whirlpool baths to plasma screens so you can watch your favourite movies whilst you wallow in bubbles. So for all those techies, here's a compilation of our top ten bathroom technologies:

Bathroom Techie Heaven 1: All-in-Ones

If a plain old shower just doesn't cut it anymore, why not splash out a few grand on an all-in-one steam bath and shower. Choose between modern styles with a massage shower, whirlpool, background lighting, foot massage, TV, radio, phone and CD player, or go Swedish-style with a wooden sauna/shower/steam bath.

Bathroom Techie Heaven 2: TV in the Tub

Why not multi-task and watch your favourite programmes whilst you get clean? Designers can either install a massive plasma screen TV into a bathroom wall or above your bath, or you can invest in a massive 8-jet whirlpool bath tub that comes complete with TV screen. The only thing that will stress you out is which channel to choose.

Bathroom Techie Heaven 3: Go with the (over) flow

If you have £7,000 kicking about, what better way to spend it than on an Evok designer overflow bath, which gives you the chance to wallow up to your neck without getting the carpet wet.
